Martha Ann Moseley Dooling, 85, of the 6400 block of Granby Street, Norfolk, VA, passed away December 21, 2011, in DePaul Hospital. A native of Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Gaines and Anne East Moseley, and the widow of David Dooling, Sr. She retired from Norfolk Academy as a teacher. She was an accomplished fiber artist. Martha also made significant contributions to genealogy records through her research into the family histories of the Easts and Bonnewells on the Eastern Shore. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Elizabeth Dooling McCarthy and husband John of Norfolk, VA; three sons, David Dooling, Jr. of Sunspot, NM, Richard Gaines Dooling and wife Jay of Norfolk, VA and Thomas Ashley Dooling and wife Trisha of Laurinburg, NC; three grandchildren, Holly Dooling, Amelia Dooling and Sean Dooling; and a great grandson, Jody David Prather and brother Marcos Prather. Thanks to Toni, Lois, Robert and Yvonne at John Knox Tower for their kindness and friendship. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Medical Center or Union Mission.
