MARTHA "MARTY" BELLE JORDAN
Annapolis has just lost a great asset - Martha "Marty" Belle Jordan, 65, died of complications due to cancer Jan 26th at Anne Arundel Medical Center, with her family by her side. Martha was the proud owner and founder of Marty's Bag Works in Annapolis, a full service family run canvas and embroidery shop.She founded MBW in 1979 with the goal of making custom canvas bags. 33 years later, MBW is still a thriving business that has branched out into all areas of marine canvas, cushions, apparel, and embroidery. She will be greatly missed by her large circle of family, friends, and business associates.
Born May 10, 1946 in Seattle, Washington to Opal and Ed Gentner. She was a dedicated member of several clubs in Annapolis including the Elks, ABWA, Ruritan, and the Chesapeake Marine Canvas Association. Twice, she received the title of American Business Woman's Association Woman of the Year and received the Outstanding Businesswoman title from the Ruritan for over a decade. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and friend and was very respected throughout the nautical community. She had a love of lighthouses, cooking, and gardening.

Marty is survived by her mother Opal Gentner, spouse, Ronald Jordan, son, Charles Schryver, stepdaughter, Lisa Wheeler, sister Bonnie Gentner, two Brothers, Paul Gentner of Baltimore, and David Gentner, of Tampa, and two grandchildren, Logan and Jordan.
