Martha Olga Argueta, 83, died peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2012. She was a very proud mother of four children, grandmother to eight children and a great-grandmother to eight children. She was born in Santa Fe on February 25, 1928 and she worked for many years as a hostess at La Fonda Hotel and the Inn at Loretto. She eventually settled in Albuquerque and worked for the City as a counselor for Senior Affairs for 19 years. Martha was vibrant, strong and independent and enjoyed cooking, especially Mexican dishes, taking care of her home and her pets and gardening. She and her girlfriends spent time shopping and going to movies. She is preceded in death by her father, Adolfo Miguel Argueta and her mother, Frances Adeline Rivera. She is survived by four children, Elizabeth Atwood, Terry Ham, Jerry Hamm and wife, Elizabeth and Michelle Gonzales White and husband, Dale; by eight grandchildren, Michael David Martinez and wife, Holly; Kelly Griego and husband, Eric; Nicole and Michael Ham, Nicholas and Patrick Hamm, Kelly Mace and Madison Mace and husband, Zach Diglio and eight great grandchildren, Dagney, Casper, Ruby and Ana Pilar Martinez, Alexa, Estevan and Tomas Griego and Haley Mace. She is also survived by her brother, Adolfo Argueta and sisters, Teresa Clark and Ramona Allocca. A rosary will be recited in Albuquerque on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 7:00 pm at French - Univeristy at 1111 University Boulevard, NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Albuquerque at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of New Mexico in Martha's memory. Martha will be greatly missed by family and friends.
