Marvin F. Porter, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Muncie, IN, Marvin worked as a Machinist with Joslyn Steel for 23 years, Production Piece Parts and Schafer Precision Machine, retiring in 2005. He was a member of East Allen Church of Christ, Maumee Lodge No. 725, and F.& A.M. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Porter; and son, Rodney Porter both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Sandra (Kerry) Heiser of Wabash; brother, Jack (Sandy) Porter of Fort Wayne; sisters, Martha McFarland of Brook Park, OH and Mary (Denny) Sower of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Amber Porter, Andrea (Ryan) Haynes, Kyle Heiser; and great-grandchildren, Ariana Collins, Tiana Melchi, Tate Melchi, and Lily Haynes. Marvin was beloved by many nieces, nephews, neighbors, church members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Katherine Porter. Service is 2pm, September 1, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Pastor Everett Confer officiating, with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm Friday at the funeral home with Masonic Service at 7pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
