MARVIN "SCOTTY" R. SCOTT, 74, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away, at his home, January 6, 2012. He had been Service Manager and partner at Armstrong Tractor, Liberty, Missouri. Scotty was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Past Master of Liberty Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. & A.M., a member of York Rite Bodies of Liberty, a past member of Ararat Shrine of Kansas City, Missouri. He had been a leader in Boy Scout Troop 376 of Liberty, Missouri and a warrior in the Tribe of Mic-o-say. He was also member of the Clay County Sportsman's Club, and the Liberty American Legion. Scotty was part of the Perkins morning coffee group, which formerly met at Trails Inn restaurant. Scotty was a devoted Christian. He was very active in his church, Liberty United Methodist Church, and had been President of the Sojourners Sunday School class. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Ray and Wanda West Scott; and twin grandsons, Andrew and Bartholomew Miller. Survivors include his devoted wife, Sara Scott; son & daughter-in-law, John and Gwen Scott of Carrollton, Missouri; daughter & son-in-law, Julie and Randy Miller of Liberty, Missouri; brothers & their wives, Melvin and Mary Susan Scott, and Ray and Sharon Scott, all of Milan, Missouri; sisters & their husbands, Nina and Harold Rexroat of Unionville, Missouri, and Kay and John Wonsetler of Liberty, Missouri; grandchildren: Amanda Scott, Sean Scott, Katie Scott, Lindsay Miller, John Miller, and Jacob Miller. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund.
