Mary Ann Brower Fogarty

Mary Ann Brower Fogarty, 84, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at her residence with her family by her side. The native of Boston, Mass. was a resident of Savannah for the past 32 years. She was a 1942 graduate of Savannah High School and a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Fogarty was a member of St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church and was a devout Bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison Zachary and Gertrude Garfield Brower, her daughter, Ida Coleen Fogarty, and her brother, Madison Z. Brower, Jr.

Mrs. Fogarty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Col.Daniel T. Fogarty, (U.S. Army retired), of Savannah, two daughters, Cynthia L. Exton, of San Antonio, TX, and Gayle A. Young, of Colorado Springs, CO, and her son, Daniel T. Fogarty, III, of Savannah. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Grant Exton, Heidi Zeiner, Bartley Young, Alisa Burkhalter, Coleen Harwood, Daniel Fogarty, IV, Lee Exton, and Lacy Lien. Also 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Director's Hodgson Chapel with visitation after the service until 5:00 p.m.

Burial will be private.
