SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 418 2nd Ave. South, Chisholm, of which Mary Ann was a lifelong member. Luncheon will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church - 113 4th St. S.W., Chisholm. Private family interment will be at Chisholm Cemetery, following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be directed to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church c/o Tom Yacio, Treasurer - 402 2nd Ave. N.W., Chisholm, MN 55719.
Mary Ann Rajacich, age 81, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her home in Eveleth, MN. She was born in Chisholm, MN on December 25, 1927 to John and Julia (Billo) Kosiak. A graduate of the Chisholm High School Class of 1945, she attended Hibbing Junior College and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1949 with a degree in Home Economics Education. Mary Ann and Peter Rajacich were married on August 9, 1959. She taught home economics in Buhl, Biwabik and Keewatin and after earning her elementary certification, taught elementary classes at Greenhaven School in Hibbing for 20 years before retiring in 1983.
In addition to her husband Peter, survivors include her brother - Dr. Michael (Helen) Kosiak; sisters – Dr. Irene (Dr. Tony) Perpich and Eve Robinson, all of Minneapolis; Kosiak nephews – Jon (Sharon); Dr. Donald (Francine); Daryl; Kevin (Robin); Dr. Brian (Nancy); Michael (Lisa); Dr. John (Rhonda); James (Renee); William; Thomas (Debbie); Steven (Beth) and Rod Robinson; nieces – Jennifer (Ron) Francis; Maureen; Kerri; Kathy (Karim); Cynthia Kosiak; Connie (John) Rymarchick and Dr. Julia (Dr. Greg Damberg) Perpich. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers - Dr. John Kosiak and Dr. William Kosiak.
