Mrs. Mary Cook Cummings, age 72, of Locust Grove, GA passed away November 14, 2011. Mrs. Cummings was born in Atlanta, GA the daughter of the late William Durell and Minnie Mae Betsill Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Cummings III, and a son, William Eugene Houston. Mrs. Cummings was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and bingo. Survivors are her sons and daughter-in-laws, Scott and Marquitta Houston of Locust Grove, and Rusty and Lyndi Houston of Americus; grandchildren, Zack & Melissa Houston, Brett Houston, Cameron Clair, Dean & Jamie Houston Campbell, Gentry and Sara Kate Houston; great grandchildren, Owen Houston and Brooklyn Campbell. Funeral service for Mrs. Cummings will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. buddy Perstrope officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM.
