ELIZABETHVILLE- Mary E. Engle, age 86, of 6106 Route 225 passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at her son's residence in Gratz. She was born in Gratz, PA, the daughter of the late Elmer and Carrie B. Steely Shade. She was retired from the former Big Yank shirt factory. She was a member of Simeon's Lutheran Church in Gratz. She was the widow of Marlin D. Engle and also preceded in death by a brother Jacob Shade. Surviving are her five children Harold Engle of Millersburg, Herbert Engle of Gratz, Donald Engle of Elizabethville, June Snyder of Millersburg, Sandra Reitz of Dalmatia, a sister Edna Lenker of Lykens, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Wednesday Sept. 14 from 10-11 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. Services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.
