West Newton - Mrs. Mary E. (Thompson) Trainor, of West Newton, died Monday, June 8, 2009 in her home. She was 81.Mary was born on July 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Phillip and Alice (Mooney) Thompson, and had lived in West Newton for the past fifty seven years. She was a devoted homemaker and in her spare time Mary enjoyed playing cards and always enjoyed taking various trips with senior citizens. She was a 1945 graduate of Saint Bernard's High School and was a member of the Corpus Christi/Saint Bernard's Women's Guild.Mary leaves her children, Phillip J. Trainor and Ann Marie Trainor both of West Newton and Mary Alice Delorey of Boston; her grandchildren, Sarah Trainor Delorey and Robert William Delorey, III and many nieces and nephews.She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Trainor, Jr. and sister of the late Dorothy Provencher and Phyllis LeBrun Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington Street, Newton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.Memorial donations may be made to Newton Senior Center, 345 Walnut Street, Newton, MA 02460 or to Saint Jude Children's Research Center, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
