Mary Elizabeth Burrough Fullbright Swanson died October 25, 2011. She was born April 21, 1920 in Union County to James A. Burrough and Mary E. (Molly) Doss Burrough. Growing up in south Arkansas, she graduated from Glendale High School. She was a homemaker and mother and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs for 49 years.
In 1944, she married Harry E. Fullbright and was married to him for 27 years until his death in 1971. She then married Glenn W. Swanson in 1974, and they were married for 17 years until his death.
She was preceded in death by husbands Harry Fullbright and Glenn Swanson; a son, James H. Fullbright; and two granddaughters, Laura A. Fullbright and Susannah R. Kuhn.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Janna L. Fullbright Kuhn and Lloyd W. Kuhn of Hot Springs; a step daughter and son-in-law Sandra Swanson Litster and John Litster of Western Springs, Illinois; a step son and daughter-in-law, Glenn W. Swanson, Jr. and Sharon Swanson of Momence, Illinois; five grandchildren, Moya E. Fullbright Dent of Germantown, Tennessee, Melissa A. Fullbright of Calhoun, Georgia, Leah R. Kuhn of Dumas, Mara E. Kuhn of Hot Springs and Jacob W. Kuhn of Hot Springs; four step-grandchildren, Scott Swanson, Kristan Swanson Gear, Mathew Litster and Dan Litster–all of Illinois; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday October 28 at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs with the Rev. John McCallum officiating.
