Mary Elizabeth Bunch, 85, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family and beloved dog Waylon. She was born in Belvidere, NC to the late Elizabeth Ann Smith and William Askew Cartwright. She is predeceased by her husband, Garland Joseph Bunch, Sr.; and grandson, Robby Brent. Mary was a member of Belvidere-Ryland Church of Christ of Tyner, NC. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gloria Bunch Roth of Huntsville, AL, Carolyn Bunch Ferguson of Moyock, NC, Marietta Bunch Wright of Decatur, AL and Teressa Bunch Blizzard of Chesapeake, VA; sons, Garland Joseph Bunch, Jr. and wife Justine of Moyock, NC and Marty Gene Bunch of Belvidere, NC; grandchildren, Joseph Russell Huneycutt III of Huntsville, AL, Angela Beatrice Ballard of Huntsville, AL, JoAnne White and husband Wesley of Moyock, NC, Mark Anthony Wright and wife Chrissie of Madison, AL, Garland Joseph Bunch III of Moyock, NC, Kristy Chappell of Tyner, NC, Ashley Stallings of Tyner, NC and Kix Bunch of Belvidere, NC; eleven great grandchildren; and brother, Rev. Oliver Cartwright of Elizabeth City, NC. A funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010, 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel with burial services to follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her honor.
