Mary E. (Giblin) Cogswell, Of Lexington, formerly of Watertown & Cambridge passed away on January 9, 2010 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Cogswell.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Mary H. (Riley) Giblin. She was the devoted mother of John A. Cogswell, Jr. & his wife Lynne of Arlington. Loving grandmother of Christine Marie Cogswell. She is also survived by her brother, John T. Giblin of Essex Junction, Vermont.
A funeral for Mrs. Cogswell will be held from the Stanton Funeral Home, 786 Mount Auburn Street (Route 16), Watertown on Wednesday January 13, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. A Funeral Mass will take place in St. Peter’s Church, Concord Avenue, Cambridge at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are scheduled on Tuesday January 12, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment to follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Mary was an Alumnus of Lesley College Class of 1955. She attended Harvard University from 1956-1957. She was formerly employed as a teacher at the University of Hidelburg, Germany and was a Retired Teacher for the City of Cambridge.
