Mary Ellen Howell died on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, PA. Mary was 81 years old. She was the wife of the late Willie C. Howell, Sr. Mary lived most of her life in Morristown, NJ until moving to Pennsylvania to live with her daughter three years ago. Born in Lyons, Ga., on February 14, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Roger and Katherine Jones. Mary was very strong in her faith and belief in Jehovah God and was baptized in 1968 as a Jehovah Witness. She was a member of the Morristown congregation which meets at the Kingdom Hall in Randolph, NJ. Mary was a school bus driver for many years. She drove just about everyone in Morristown at one time or another. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. She is survived by 9 children: Jules Howell of Columbia, S.C. Loretta Howard of Budd Lake NJ, Linda Howell of Dover, NJ, Diane Watkins (Tom) of Oakland Ca., Sharon Antoine (Brian) of Stroudsburg, Pa, Debbie Clark (Jimmie) of Saylorsburg, Pa, Willie Howell Jr. (Abigail) of Randolph, NJ, Darryl Howell of Dover, NJ, Brenda Howell of Atlanta, Ga; a sister, Sa-Rah Johnson of Roselle, NJ and three brothers; Tim Jones(Sue) of Watchung, NJ, Simmy Jones (Rose) of Sumter, SC and John L. Jones (Josephine) of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband Willie, Mary was predeceased by a son, Dennis Howell, two brothers Willie Jones and Roger Jones, Jr., and a sister, Mae Frances Jackson.
