Mary Jo Mozingo, 88, of Greenwood, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her residence.

On June 19, 1924 Mary Jo was born to Moses C. and Lucile A. (Sturdevant) Pruitt in Connersville. Mary Jo graduated from Franklin College in 1945 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, magna cum laude then earned her Master's degree in Social Services from Indiana University in 1964. She was married to Byron J. Mozingo on October 5, 1946.

Mary had worked as the Director for Shelby County Department of Public Welfare. The Executive Director for the Suemma Coleman Agency in Indianapolis, and the Johnson County Youth Services Bureau (now the Youth Connections), The Child Welfare Supervisor for the Office of Family and Children, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.

Mary Jo was a very active member of the community her memberships include: First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood where she served as an Elder; National Association of Social Workers, Academy of Certified Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Tri Kappa, Charlotte Emerson Club, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, in Franklin; Board of Trustees with Valle Vista Hospital, Society of Indiana Pioneers, Historic Landmarks of Indiana.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son: Todd R. Mozingo. She is survived by cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were private. Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood.
