Mary Jo Nicoll
Greenvile, SC
Mary Jo Thomas Nicoll, 86, widow of Ernest Eugene Nicoll, Jr., of Duncan Chapel Road, died January 28, 2012.
Born in Douglas, AL, she was the daughter of the late William Hayden and Vespa Dendy Thomas.
Mrs. Nicoll was a graduate of Auburn University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. A retired school teacher, she was a member of First Baptist Church, the Apphia Sunday School Class and a former teacher of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She enjoyed hiking and was an active member of the Greenville Natural History Association.
Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Thomas E. Nicoll of Larchmont, NY, and Dan Nicoll of Bethesda, MD; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Carpenter Chapel at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Baxter Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the church.
