Mary Josephine Thompson passed away June 13, 2010 in Carlsbad California. Mary was born March 3, 1928 in San Diego where she grew up and raised her children. She is survived by four children: Michael Miller and Julie Hiltsley of California and David Thompson and Anita Boyer of Nevada; two sisters and one brother, Robert Byron and Louise Schow of California and Robertha Skiver of Utah. She has ten grand children and ten great grand children.
Mary devoted her life to the care and well being of children providing and safe and nurturing day care for them in her home in Pacific Beach for over 40 years. Mary loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She enjoyed gardening and her yard was always filled with beautiful blooming flowers. Mary was very active in Saint Brigid Catholic Church. She could always be found after mass at the coffee shop providing a cup of hot coffee or chocolate and a special smile to everyone.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the loving and caring staff at both Las Villas De Carlsbad and San Diego Hospice.
