MORELOCK-MITCHELL, MARY LaFERN (PRICE)
A resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1958, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, twenty days short of her 90th birthday. She is survived by her three children: Mrs. Jana K. (Dr. Karl) Hynes, Lanai City, HI; Mrs. Tamara (Kelly, deceased) Lodge, Albuquerque, NM; Mr. Steven (Megan) Morelock, Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Tomi ( Jack ) Norris, Tulsa, OK, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Morelock is preceded in death by her husband, William Wendell Morelock (1982) her parents, James & Hester Price and her five siblings. LaFern was born in Lawrence, OK, in 1921. She graduated from H.S. at age 16. She then attended Oklahoma State University and East Central St. University in Ada, OK where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She taught school for 35 years at Stronghurst and Sombre Del Monte Elementary Schools. Mrs. Morelock was very active with her bridge clubs during the past 50 years, and was a tireless and energetic fitness fanatic and member of her gym. She enjoyed square dancing where she met her second husband, Russel Mitchell, a World War II veteran, who passed away in 2008. She was a positive force for and dedicated to her family and was always a shining example of how to live a full and happy life. Services will be held at French's Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, at Eubank Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
