Mary Lee Rantanen, daughter of our Lord, has journeyed from this earthly life to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 25, 2011. Mary Lee was born February 12, 1933 to Mark and Agnes Stafford. She was a graduate of Baraga School Class of 1951. She married Arvo Rantanen on February 15, 1963 and he preceded her in death in July of 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two sister's, Ann Maloney and Patricia Schroll. Mary Lee is survived by two brothers, William (Clarice) Stafford of The Villages, FL and Michael (Ernestine) Stafford of Poinciana, FL; two special nephews, Robert (Gloria) Maloney of Roscoe, IL and Craig (Penny) Maloney of Rudyard, MI; two special nieces, Linda (Michael Ferency) Maloney of St. Johns, MI and Susan Maloney-Smeberg (Jim) of Iron Mountain, MI. Mary Lee was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and a lifelong resident of Marquette. At Mary Lee's request, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
