Mary Lorraine Bump

Lorraine Bump, affectionately known as "Gram" by her grandchildren, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. She spent the last four days of her life surrounded by her family. Born September 29, 1924 in Mount Pleasant, UT to Bernard and Verda Olson. Married Carl Lewis Bump on December 30, 1949. He preceded her in death 30 years ago. She retired from the V.A. Medical Center. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lorraine devoted her life to her family. She was warm, fun, feisty, always ready to party, and had a big hug for everyone. Her eight grandchildren and great grandson were her greatest joy. She enjoyed hosting sleepovers and parties, attending their activities, and standing in line for hours for the newest video game or book. She often reminded her children that if she knew her grandkids would be so fun, she would have had them first.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey D. (Debbie) Bump, Vickie Lyn (Frank) Houser, and David L. (Michelle) Bump; and siblings Shirl (Barbara) Olson, Ray (Kathie) Olson, Don (Linda) Olson and Betty (Ronald) Colledge. Preceded in death by brother Dale.
Please join us in celebrating her life Thursday, February 10 at 11 a.m., Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, SLC. Friends and family may call Wednesday, February 9, 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, February 10, one hour prior to services. Interment Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
