Mary Lou Hill Darden, age 90, passed away on February 6, 2012, at BayPointe Medical. She was born on November 14, 1921 in Johnston County, North Carolina to Ralph and Suzannah Hill. She completed school and went on to become a bookkeeper. In 1950 she married Joseph Allen Darden. Together, they had two wonderful children, Mary Beth and Joseph. She was lucky to receive 4 grandchildren: Abby, Joanna, Emily and Nicholas. Regrettably, Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband and grandchild Abby, sister Rachel Tart and brothers Hobert Hill and Carl Hill. Mary Lou will live on in our hearts as a vibrant woman, who has passion for her family, friends and bowling. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton Grove, NC. A viewing for friends will be held in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, Febraury 8, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
