We celebrate the life of Mary Lou King affectionately known as "Baby Sister" Mary Lou King was born May 8, 1927 to the union of Lucille Gregory and Legueral Cooperwood in Houlka, Mississippi. Both parents preceded her in death. She received her education through the Mississippi and Florida State Public School System and later relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri in the late 1940's. On January 15, 1944 she was united in marriage to Mr. Willie Roy King and to this union was blessed with one daughter Mary Alice King Smith and one son Chauncey D. King. She was employed by Stix Baer & Fuller Department Store (Brentwood, Missouri) for 15 years and later retired from Boeing Aircraft Company in 1993. Mary Lou departed this life on Friday December 17, 2010 at 3:02 p.m. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and one son-in-law, Mary Alice and John Allen Smith of Troy, Missouri; one son and one daughter-in-law, Chauncey King and wife Nishelby of Rockledge Florida; three granddaughters, Essence E'mon King of Virginia Beach; Jade Aliyah King and Nischa Mary King; one step-grandson, Tyrell Jackson of Rockledge; four step granddaughters, Alison Rutledge and Robin Smith of California; Nicole Sandford and Chanell Smith of St. Louis Missouri; two sisters, Pastor Larnell Griffin of St. Louis, Missouri; and Dorothy Bass of Beloit, Wisconsin and a host of many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
