Mary Louise Jones, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at The Willows in St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, with Fr. James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with a rosary recited at 4:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hospice at Home or Alzheimer's Association. Those wishing to share a memory of Mary may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Mary Louise was born June 28, 1931 in Benton Harbor, to Frank & Louise (Modigell) Post. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1949. On August 13, 1955 she married Elmer E. Jones in St. Joseph. Mary Louise worked for the Berrien County Clerk's Office as a Bookkeeper. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an Extraordinary Minister of Communion and participated on the funeral ministry. In her spare time she enjoyed bird watching, reading, country music, writing letters and cards and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Mary Louise is survived by her children Christopher (Christine) Jones of St. Joseph, Diane (Philip) Neville of Birmingham, MI, Connie Jones of Lansing, MI, Michael (Kathleen) Jones of Niles, Gregory Jones of Kalamazoo; grandchildren Susanne & Kevin Jones, Brian & Shannon Neville, Jessie, Brady, Casey, Katie & Brandon Jones; brothers Frank Post of Phoenix, AZ, Gerald Post of St. Joseph and Robert Post of Grand Rapids. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her parents and husband Elmer.
