Mary Louise Shepard, 98, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away January 2, 2012, in her home. A native of Mooresville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beatrice Hill, and the widow of Raymond J. Shepard. She is survived by her daughter, Carole Lissy and husband George of Palmyra, VA; a son, Barry T. Shepard and wife Roxanne of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Elizabeth Blanton of Statesville, NC and Jane Buchanan of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Lisa Allison Shepard of Escondido, CA and Kyle Raymond Shepard of Knoxville, TN; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Hill of Livonia, MI and Jean Hill of Burlington, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
