Mary M. Coen, age 83, of North Canton, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 in St. Luke's Lutheran Home. She was born in Bellaire, OH on October 23, 1928 and was a member of First Christian Church. Mary was a member of the Welshiemer Sunday School Class and the T.L.C. Bible study at First Christian and an auxiliary member of the Greensburg VFW. She was very creative and was known as the "Craft Lady" at St. Luke's. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Coen Sr. on March 7, 2010; her parents, Richard Heath and Eleanor Hoffman; and her brother, Clyde Hoffman Jr. Survivors include her four children, Robert Coen Jr., Patricia Coen, Gary Coen and Jeff Coen all of North Canton; and Jeff's two children, granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha Coen. The family would like to thank her friends, the staff at St. Luke's Lutheran Home Murfield, Dr. Leonard Tamburro and the Crossroads Hospice Program for all the care and kindness. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel at St. Luke's Lutheran Home, with the Minister Jeff Bullock officiating. Committal services will be held at a later date in The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert. The Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family requests that no flowers be sent, instead, donations may be made to the St. Luke's Lutheran Home of the Aging, 220 Applegrove St. NE North Canton, OH 44720.
