Mary Margaret (Earle) Bays, 63, of Marquette, died Friday evening, April 29, 2011, at Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice. She was born June 26, 1947, in Newberry, a daughter of the late William and Naida (Ward) Earle. She was a 1965 honors graduate of Newberry High School and attended St. Mary's of Notre Dame for two years. Mary was self employed in advertising. She was very involved in the community as Director of Art on the Rocks for 15 years, and Past President of the Ishpeming Rotary and Chocolay Area Business Association. Mary was a member of Lake Superior Arts Association, was Blaney Park historian and initiated the Ishpeming Renaissance Festival. She appreciated and supported the arts and was devoted to the care of animals. She enjoyed reading and long walks with her husband and dogs. Mary is survived by her husband, Ted of Marquette, whom she married on September 14, 2010; siblings, Bill (Jackie) Earle of Midland, MI, Jackie Earle of Ishpeming, Patty Earle of Staten Island, NY and Michele Earle of Manistique, MI; nieces, Michele, Salone Loren, and nephew, Billy. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 3, 20011 from 12 Noon until the time of a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
