RUTH PRUETT was born Mary Ruth Rainey on August 29, 1924 in Appleton, AR, daughter of Ella & Floyd Rainey. She grew up in Morrilton, AR. At age 17 she married Monroe Pruett. They moved to San Diego in 1950. Ruth was an active member of Pacific Beach (CA) & Hattieville (AR) Church of Christ. She served as Point Loma Ocean Beach Multiple Listing Service president, Ocean Beach Women's Club president, San Diego Christian Foundation Member & was an original director of Peninsula Bank. She owned & operated Pruett Realty, in Ocean Beach, from the early 60's to the mid 1990's. She & her husband, Monroe, enjoyed dual residencies in Point Loma, CA & at their farm in Old Hickory, AR. Ruth died peacefully in her home on July 4th, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by two daughters, Jan Pruett & Rita DeSaire of San Diego, 4 grandchildren, Chris Gouveia, Ron Neville, Jill Salvati of San Diego & Nancy Wyckoff of San Clemente, CA, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Bernice Farmer of San Diego & Bettye Middleton of Everton, AR. She is preceded in death by her husband, Monroe, her son, Richard, a brother Harry Rainey & a sister, Neta Hunter. Her family will receive friends at Pacific Beach Mortuary on Wed evening July 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at El Camino Chapel in Sorrento Valley on Thurs. July 15th, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to San Diego Christian Foundation, 4282 Balboa Ave, San Diego, CA 92117 or Alzheimer Assoc. 4950 Murphy Canyon Rd., San Diego, CA ???
