Mary Sue (Woods) Hammons
Went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2012 at the age of 74. Mary was born on September 24, 1937 at home in Terrell Texas to Eva (Tripplet) and Robert Benson Woods Sr. She was the second of nine children. She grew up in Dallas, Tx and graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1954. She met Bobby Hammons (the love of her life) at a football game and they were married on June 11, 1955 residing in Lewisville Tx. She worked in the early years as a certified radiology technologist and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eva Woods, Four brothers, Bobby, James Lynn, Dewey and Jerry. She is survived by her son John Steven Hammons, Daughter Julie Sue (Hammons) Salla and husband Alagi Salla, Grandson Zachary Salla. She is also survived by two sisters, Linda Durbin and Diane Carter, two brothers Ricky and Ronnie Woods, Aunt Eula Mae Lambert.
