Matthew M. Pavletich Obituary


Matthew M. Pavletich, 89, of Springfield, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003 at the Sangamon Care Center. He was born November 12, 1913 in Toluca, IL, the son of Matthew M. and Katie Stimas Pavletich. He married Josephine L. Yuscius on June 13, 1942 at St. Vincent De Paul Church in Springfield. He was employed by Pillsbury Mills and retired from there in 1975, after 32 years of service. He was a member of Christ the King Church, Holy Name Society, Pillsbury Local #24 and the Lithuanian-American Club. He was preceded by death by his parents; and three brothers: John, Joseph and Nicholas. He is survived by wife, Josephine; one brother: Tom of Oakland, CA; four sisters: Bertha Burt of Pawnee, Mary (husband, John) Majewski of Springfield, Catherine Murphy of Virden, and Elsie (husband, Carl) Venvertloh of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church with Reverend Donald J. Meehling celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Little Flower School, 900 Adlai Stevenson Drive, Springfield, IL 62703 or to the donor’s choice. The family of Matthew Pavletich is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
