Mattie Barnett, 87, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away December 29, 2010. A native of Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Sara Raleigh. She was a member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church and was a Sales Associate at Hecht's Department Store at Lynnhaven Mall. She is survived by her daughter, Irene Barnett of Virginia Beach, VA; her sister, Ada Elliott of Corbin, KY; and her brother, Casper Raleigh of Woodburn, IN. She was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Castello. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel with Rev. Daniel Mackey officiating. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
