Maureen Kaniatobe Fowler
departed this life on June 16th, 2012 after a long and hard fought battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She loved her Lord and Savior and assured those who loved her that she would spend eternity with him. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, her brother and two nephews. She is survived by her best friend and husband Jim, her four daughters, Angela Russo and husband Ron, Melissa Axton, Michelle Kelly and husband Brian, and Dana Lindley and husband Burt, and one son Major Robert Fowler and his wife Jessica. She delighted in being "Nana" to her grandchildren Peyton, Kiersten and Zachary Russo, Kaden Axton, Teagan and Isla Kelly, Carrington and Jordyn Fowler, and Corrie and Clay Hunter, and great grandsons Cullen Ngyon and Kingston Hunter. She is also survived by her sisters Hyahwahnah Wells and husband Art, Janis Erwin and husband Jack, and Karen Love and husband Jim as well as several nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. Maureen was a member of First Baptist Church Waxahachie where she served over the years, as health permitted, in choir, kitchen team, women's ministry, and "Benevolent Team." She enjoyed helping in the special-friends class and was a member of Genesis Sunday school class. She was also a member of "Most Awesome Mafia" Bible study group. In earlier years, she studied music at Baylor University and used her talent to teach private piano lessons.
Maureen Fowler's unwaiverable faith in God and her immeasurable love for her family have been inspirational to all who knew and loved her. She will truly be missed.
