Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was called home on December 16, 2011 after complications from a recent surgery and illness. She was born on September 6, 1936 to Ellis and Arlene Armstrong in Basalt, Idaho.

Maurene married George Emil Nelson on November 5, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. Together they had six children. Their years together before her passing were a great example and blessing to both sides of their family.

She is survived by her husband George; her children Lynn (Ramona) Nelson, Kerry (Arlene) Nelson, Blaine (Joyce) Nelson, Dean Nelson, Kjristi (Robby) Lee, Dustin (Megan) Nelson; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Payson 2nd Ward Chapel, 274 South Main Street Payson, Utah. Viewings will be Monday December 19, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah, and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
