Mavis Lodmell, 72 of Cottonwood , passed away on August 23, 2011. She was born on September 22, 1939 in Poplar, Montana to Ruby Benson. Mavis attended school in Poplar for 12 years and Yavapai College in Cottonwood for 2 years for nursing. She worked for the Prescott VA Medical Center, Page Hospital , Marcus Lawrence Hospital and YRMC. Mavis was proud of her nursing degree and being a mother to her 5 sons. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend of Bill W. for 34 years. Mavis enjoyed crafts, sewing and was an avid reader. Mavis is preceded in death by her husband Larry Sedberry and sons John and Dan Lodmell. She is survived by sons Allan Lodmell (Wanda) of Prescott Valley , Steve Lodmell (MaryAnn) of Cottonwood and Gary Lodmell (Lisa) of Cottonwood ; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10:00am at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood . An online guestbook is available to sign at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
