Mavis Miller

Mrs. Mavis Rose Miller, age 76 of Tiger, Georgia formerly of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away October 5, 2011. She was born in England to the late Albert and Lillian Meredith Rose Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Clarence Miller in 2006 and by her son, Glenn Miller in 2001. She met and married her husband while he was stationed in the military in England and accompanied him back to America to make their life together. She was a member of Flippen United Methodist Church and was a kind Christian woman who was a devoted homemaker and was very generous, giving and selfless. She enjoyed following the lives of the Royal Family and had a deep love for animals. Survivors include her daughter, Kay (Paul) Amick of Lakemont, GA; daughter in law, Frances Miller of Texas; grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel and Andrew Amick, Samantha and Michelle Miller; sister, Brenda of Wales. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Contributions are asked to be made to the ASPCA in memory of Mrs. Miller.
