Max L. Egley, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 25, 2011. Born in Decatur, IN, he graduated from Adams Central High School, Manchester College, and St. Francis University with a master's degree. Max was a mathematics teacher and a basketball coach for a span of 34 years at Harrison Hill, Snider High School, and Woodlan High School before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Summit City Bass Masters and First United Methodist Church in LaGrange. Max was an avid golfer and fisherman. Max and his wife enjoyed traveling but especially enjoyed their winters in Florida. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Karen Egley of Wolcottville, son, Anthony (Diane) Egley of Fort Wayne, brother, Don (Nancy) Egley of Decatur, sister, Carol (George) Olson of New Carlisle, grandchildren, Bryce, Katelynne, and Catherine Egley, nephews, Tom, Steve, Dave Olson, niece, Jody Hirschy, 4 great nieces, and 1 great nephew. Max was preceded in death by parents, Walter Emil and Mary A. Egley, 1 great niece, and 1 great nephew. Memorial Service is 10:30 am, Thursday, December 29, 2011, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior, Pastor Chris Danielson officiating. Calling at the funeral home, Wednesday, December 28, 2011, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, Church or Nursery School, 209 W.
