Resident of San Mateo
Born in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango Mexico on Oct. 12, 1919 and passed away on Jan 5 2013 from pneumonia.
A mechanical wizard and avid musician, Max was a highly valued mechanic at the SSF Georgia Pacific container plant for 28 years.
After retiring and until his passing, he could be found taking daily walks, working in his garden, playing music, and helping family and neighbors fix anything and everything. A strong and independent man of 93 years, he was an inspiration to many. His attitude toward aging was "use it or lose it."
He is survived by his beloved wife, Socorro Nevarez and was the loving father of 9: Max Nevarez - dec'd (Ellen); Olivia Nevarez (Henry Zertuche); Gus Nevarez; Martha Zertuche - dec'd (Robert Zertuche); Rodolfo Nevarez (Kathy); Lilia Rodriguez (Oscar); Alberto Nevarez - dec'd; Graciela Stoklosa (Raymond); and Rose Nevarez. A grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 19. Also survived by his dear sister, Luz Meraz, of Mexico City.
A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held Saturday February 16th, 11am at St. Timothy Church, 1515 Dolan Ave San Mateo. Memorial Donations to Samaritan House, San Mateo, in lieu of flowers.
