Maximilian Kolbe Newcomb, 16 day-old son of Neil and Edie Newcomb of Marquette, was born into eternal life on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. Max was born on June 1, 2011 in Marquette. Besides his loving parents, he is survived by five siblings, Maria, Brent, Grace, Asrat and Charlotte; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his loving Godparents, Todd and Susan Rapavi. Friends may call at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Cathedral with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Even though Max's stay on earth was brief, he will live an eternity in our hearts. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider the Upper Peninsula Down Syndrome Association, 773 Lakewood Lane, Marquette, MI 49855 in Max’s memory.
