Maxine E. (Weisbrod) Osborn, the daugher of Fred and Freelove (Curry) Weisbrod, was born March 16, 1914, in Fenton, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 95.
She received her education in the Fenton schools, graduating from Fenton High School.
On May 16, 1933, Maxine was united in marriage to Clarence Osborn. Following their marriage, the couple moved to a farm near Fenton to live and raise their family. Church played a very active part in Maxine's life and she was quite active in Fenton United Methodist Church activities. Maxine loved music and especially playing the organ. She gave piano lessons for many years. Family played an important role in Maxine's life and she took great pleasure in family gatherings and events, she enjoyed playing cards and Maxine had the distinction of being known as an excellent cook. Following their retirement the couple moved to Fenton to make their home. Maxine enjoyed wintering in Florida and after her husband's death in Arizona. For the past several years, Maxine has made her home in Estherville.
Maxine was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Fenton, where she was church organist for over 50 years and played at many, many weddings and funerals.
Left to cherish Maxine's memory are her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Osborn and her husband, Ronald Schroeder of Carroll, Iowa; grandchildren, Debra Osborn of Darien, Illinois, Craig Osborn and his wife, Kelly of Burlington, Iowa; step-grandchildren, Matt Schroeder and his wife, Lisa, Marty Schroeder and his wife, Kay; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mackenzie and Madison; step-great-grandchildren, Evan, Kara, Amie, Zach, Justin, Brandy; and brother, Maurice Weisbrod and his wife, June; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Maxine in death were her husband; two sons, David and Roger; her parents; sister, Hazel Kuecker and her husband, Arnie; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Hattie Kelly and her husband, Otto, Margaret Osborn, Winifred Brown and her husband, Bill, Pauline Potter and Earl Osborn and his wife, Wilma.
