Maxine Walker was born on May 15, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri and was the first child of Maxine D. Walker and Persiphine Walker. She was the big sister of the Walker clan. Maxine was a graduate of Charles Sumner High School. Maxine was the proud mother of one son, Shawn Walker. Maxine was employed for over thirty years at Deaconess Hospital as part of the nursing staff. Maxine enjoyed shopping for treasures at the local thrift shops, creating floral designs and the art of storytelling to children. Maxine had a very special relationship with her baby brother Kenneth Walker who provided care for her needs and comforts. Maxine could always depend on Kenneth and his support. The family would also like to thank Donna Walker for the support she provided her husband during this time. Maxine Walker departed this life on December 19, 2011. Maxine's memory will be cherished by: her son, Shawn; sister, Pat Miller, sister, Stephanie Wicks of California; Maxie D. Walker, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Kenneth (Donna) Walker of St. Louis; aunts, Goldie Hill, Dorothy (Kenneth) Talton; uncles, Earl Hill and Harold Hill; other relatives and friends.
