Our mother Medaltie Jane (Pep) Savoy, 77, has completed her life journey. She passed away at Lafayette General Hospital, March 17, 2013, surrounded by her children, grand children and family members. Jane is now resting in the loving care of Our Father and beloved husband. She was a waitress for many years at Ruby's Café until her retirement. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Danny Savoy and wife Martha of Eunice and Randy Savoy and wife Shirley of Rayne; seven grand children, Mandy S. Taylor and husband Ryan of Evansville, IN; Magan S. Mensman and husband Ward of Morgan City; Jarrod Savoy and wife Heather of Lawtell; Crystal Savoy of Eunice; Brandon Savoy and wife Katie of Eunice; Justin Savoy and wife Aneria of Mamou; and Madison Savoy of Rayne; eight great grand children that she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivans Carrier and Dora Boudreaux Carrier; her husband, A.B. Joseph Savoy; three brothers, John Carrier, Joseph Carrier, and Roosevelt Carrier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 1 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Father Cedric Sonnier will officiate. Burial will follow at Savoy Cemetery.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2013 from 10 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 6 PM. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM on Wednesday for visitation until time of service.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her nurse, Ryan Butcher, Lafayette Medical Center, and Father Boyer.
