Melvin "Mel" Lee Keeney, 68, of Moline, IL died Monday, January 02, 2012 at his home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 Moline Missionary Church, 3910 13th Street, Moline. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service time. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moline Missionary Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mel was born on September 9, 1943 in Burlington, IA to Elmer S. and Idella (James) Keeney. He married Deloris Sanderson in Rock Island, IL on November 29, 1980. Mel worked as a mechanic for over 40 years and his true love was working on cars. He loved building stock cars with his son and watching him race. He also loved to watch westerns, boxing, wrestling, and Fox News. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his new granddaughter, Ava.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Keeney; and sons, Shawn, Jason, and Justin.
