MERLE CHIC ROBERTSON (KAY) MORRIS, age 95, joined her beloved parents, brothers and sisters on July 25, 2011. With her spirit of living and her amazing sense of humor, she requested a Celebration of Life at an interesting and lively place. For this Celebration, the family has chosen JEM’s Restaurant on the Liberty Square, 8 E. Franklin, Liberty, MO 64068 at 1:00 pm Sunday, August 28th. Friends and family are invited to attend. Kay was born in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Richard Robertson, III and Merle Chic Crandall Robertson. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, John and Richard, three sisters, Elizabeth, Suzanne and Lucerne, and her husband, Tom. She is survived by daughters Judith and husband Edward and Allis and husband Kenneth, and son Andrew and wife Mary. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Kay was an accomplished artist working in clay and paper products, creating whimsical figurines and other third dimensional characters along with painting in oils and water colors. She created a medical stenographic service in the early 1960s many years before this type business came into vogue. She owned a plant and antique shop in the Brookside area and after retirement, she continued to pursue her artistic capabilities. Kay led a full and interesting life and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
