Mrs. Merry Palmer Rainey, age 73 of McDonough, Georgia passed away October 21, 2011. She was born in Louisville, MS to the late James T. and Coley Ree Miles Palmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lyman Rainey and by siblings, Frances Humphries and Joel F. Palmer. Merry was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her dog, Sugar and sewing. Survivors include her children, Linda (Rodney) McMath of Powder Springs, GA, Rita (Ettore) Perdichizzi of Fayetteville, GA, Kelly (Keith) Mansulich of Fayetteville, GA, Patti Jacobson of Mansfield, GA, James (Mary) Rainey of Auburn, AL; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brothers, James Palmer of Detroit, MI, Rupert Palmer of College Station, TX, Pettus Palmer of Jackson, MS, Haron Palmer of Stockbridge, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family Monday, October 24, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with a Rosary read at 8:00 PM. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, MS. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 in memory of Merry Rainey.
