MILLERSBURG- Michael D. Welsh, age 44, of 245-A Center St. passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Harrisburg Hospital after a courageous seven year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Berwick, PA the son of Oscar Welsh, Jr. who survives him of Berwick and the late Nora Jane Kishbaugh Welsh. Mike was a computer programmer for PHEAA. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg. He was a volunteer coach for the Millersburg Little League and Twin Valley Soccer League, he was Santa Claus for the Millersburg Middle School's annual breakfast with Santa, he was an avid fan of the Yankees, Penguins, Hershey Bears and Harrisburg Senators and he enjoyed fishing. Surviving in addition to his father are his wife Karen Sleesman Welsh, a brother Jay and his wife Hope of Berwick, three sisters Jan Lawton and her husband David of Mechanicsburg, Ruth Ann Travelpiece of Nescopeck, Beth Robsock and her husband Joe of Northumberland, several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law Nancy Kirkwood and her husband Jim of Millersburg, God children Amy Robsock and Colin Kirkwood. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 3:00 pm at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg.
