Michael Edward Walker was born on August 19, 1957 on a U.S. Army Base in Staten Island, NY. He departed this life on Thursday March 1, 2007. Michael was one of five children born to the late Master Sgt. Willie C. Walker, Sr. (deceased 1959) and the late Emma Kate Walker. After the death of his mother in 1974, his oldest brother Willie C. Walker, Jr., whom Michael referred to as �Cle�, along with his other siblings, Debra Walker and Kenneth Walker. His father made a career in the U.S. Army, making Michael a typical "army brat". Because of the travel involved with the Army, the family lived in several places such as Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Monmouth, NJ, and later settling in Passaic and Paterson, NJ after the death of his father. Michael attended elementary schools in Passaic and Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated in 1975 from John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, New Jersey. After graduation, Michael met and later married Jacqueline Thompson on August 8, 1981 at the New AME Zion Church in Paterson, NJ. From this union, one son was born, Malik M. Walker. Michael was also a devoted father to his children, Ebony Turner, and Victor Cruz, both from previous relationships. Michael was truly a devoted, loving, and dedicated father to all of his children. The recent feather in his cap was that of "Grand-Dad" to Jordan Christopher Turner. In 1984, Michael joined the Paterson Fire Department as a firefighter. A career spanning over 20 years. He received many accolades during his career, and was a member of the International Association of Professional Black Firefighters Bronze Heat Chapter. Michael was an active member of his community and especially enjoyed working with the youth. He was involved in coaching activities such as basketball, baseball and football. Michael's hobbies included playing basketball, working out, writing, dancing and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid "dresser" and could always be seen sporting the latest fashions and being the life of the party. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Jacqueline (Thompson) Walker, two son�s Malik, Victor, and a daughter Ebony Turner. Two brothers, William �Cle�, Kenneth, and a sister Deborah Walker. Grandfather of Jordan Turner. Brother-in-law of Louise Walker, Renee Lambkin, Kim Thompson, Larry Thompson, Rosalind and Charles Thompson. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
