Age 61, of Frisco, TX passed away August 8, 2011. He was born October 31, 1949 in Memphis, TN to Cyril Augustine and Elizabeth Jean (Bettye) Kavanagh. He grew up in Richardson, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Sean and Brian Kavanagh; and his sister, Colleen Kavanagh Lee. A man born a century late, Michael was an avid horseman, as well as a gunsmith, who loved his horse and his craft equally. He enjoyed participating in Old West and Civil War re-enactments, as well as keeping up with current political issues. He loved his family and friends dearly, loved animals and had other interests such as history and science which he loved to discuss at length. He will be missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his loving companion Mary Boyd of Frisco, TX; sisters, Kathleen McLarty (Phil) of Hope, AR, Sharon Clark (Jim Edd) of Longmont, CO, Erin Kavanagh of Garland, TX, Kelly Patton (Neale) of Richardson, and Eileen Stanberry (David) of Garland, TX; brothers, Patrick Kavanagh (Donnie) of Lavon, TX and Kevin Kavanagh of Richardson, TX; uncle, Joe Kavanagh (Mim) of Carrollton, TX; aunts, Anne Sain of Dyersburg, TX and Mary Bulger of TN; and a number of nieces and nephews who adored him. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the ASPCA or any other horse rescue organization.
