Michael William Hightower, 34, of Great Falls, Montana, formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, in Great Falls as the result of an automobile accident.
Born September 15, 1976, in Burlington, he was the son of William Warren and Janet Rae Morse Hightower.
Michael was a self-employed carpenter. He had also worked at Smith Engineering as a surveying apprentice for five years. He was a 1995 graduate of Burlington High School. He graduated from Southeastern Community College in 1998 with a degree in drafting. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a Boy Scout mentor and was in 4-H as a kid. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, raising animals, the outdoors, classic mustang cars, and fixing things. He was an avid learner, and loved to read. He was always there for his friends and family.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Janet Hightower of Burlington; one brother, Erik (Sara Buechel) Hightower of Burlington; one sister, Krystie (Jason) Hightower-McDonald of Los Angeles, CA; one nephew, Jacob McDonald; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and four uncles.
Visitation will be from noon until 6:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mr. Hightower will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 11, 2010, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Moberg officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Hass-Thielen Community Room following the service. A graveside committal service and inurnment will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
