MICHAEL JAY JORGENSEN July 31, 1980 – July 4, 2013 Michael Jay Jorgensen "Jorgy" was born on July 31, 1980 in Pontiac, Michigan. His parents were Matthew and Cynthia and they were of Cherokee, German and Polish descent. He died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan. Jorgy was 32 years of Age. "Have you given me a hug lately?" Jorgy was a resident of Highland, MI and a former resident of Dalton, GA. He was a 1998 graduate of Northwest Whitfield High School in Varnell, GA and played the trumpet in the marching band. He was a longtime and accomplished cold form machine operator for N.S.S. Technologies in Canton, MI. He was an avid Detroit Sports fan, a devoted Star Trek "Trekkie" enthusiast and a huge "Tech Nerd". He enjoyed nature and bird watching with his mother. "All good things" Beloved son of Cynthia E. Collins (Steven) and Matthew J. Jorgensen (Heather). Dear brother of Melissa, David, Ryan, Alayna and Katy. Uncle of Courtney, Elizabeth, Jacob and Layla. Loving grandson of Carolyn and Arthur Courville, and the late Dorothy and Thomas Jorgensen. Also survived by his dear cousin, Adam, as well as many other cousins and relatives. Funeral Service Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI. Family will receive friends Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 3-8 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. until time of service. Committal Services at Oakland Hills Memorial Park are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to Henry Ford Hospice.
