Michael Martin Reimers
Des Moines

Michael M. Reimers, 49, of Des Moines died August 9, 2010, at Mercy Hospital with his family at his bedside. Michael is survived by his parents, Mary Jean and Maurice Reimers of Panora, IA; his brother, David (Toni) Reimers of Des Moines; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was born February 27, 1961 in Des Moines and graduated from Hoover High School and Iowa State University. He worked for the Office of Thrift Supervision as a compliance examiner. Michael enjoyed fishing, taking trips to Canada, Florida and Minnesota, as well as many family vacations at Lake Okoboji and family time at Lake Panorama. Michael was an avid fan of all Iowa State Cyclone sports, Iowa Cubs, and Chicago Cubs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 5PM to 8PM with a time of remembrance at 6PM. Private interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Ogden, Iowa at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Homeless Youth Centers, 1219 Buchanan Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50316.
