Michelle Elizabeth Slater was born August 12, 1979 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. She was welcomed home by brothers Michael 18, Ronny 15, and Danny 14. She was pampered and adored as their little sister. She was cared for under vigilant watchful eyes and protected like the precious gift that she was.

Michelle attended Park Village Elementary and Woodlake Elementary. She moved to New Braunfels with her mother for a short time where she attended third grade. After moving back to San Antonio she attended local schools until she went to live with her Uncle Pete and Aunt Flora in New Braunfels. She attended high school there and was a member of the Dance Team, along with her cousin Angie.

In 1995, she moved to Floresville to live with her brother Danny, wife Kathy, and nephews Travis and Danson. While living there she formed a closer bond with her little nephews who became more like little brothers. She started to develop her sense of self there. She excelled on the Dance Team at Floresville High School, and became an officer her senior year. She graduated in 1997.

Michelle worked for VIA transit after graduation and next landed a job at CPS in the legal department.

She financed her own first car, and got her first apartment. Michelle met Jeff Meade at a volunteer event for Mission Road Development Center. They began their love affair and were married on March 12, 2004 in Las Vegas. They were best friends and proceeded to build their life together. Michelle was welcomed into the Meade family with open arms and open hearts. Each one held a very special place in her heart and she so appreciated them. Michelle continued to donate her time to non-profit organizations and charities which included Big Brothers and Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and Huntington's Disease of San Antonio. She was always kind and friendly to everyone she met. She was next hired at Valero, working in the Security Department where she was the face of Valero. If you were an employee, intern, or vendor you went to Michelle first for your ID and she'd snap your photo. She was a much loved employee at Valero and had many friends there.

Michelle and Jeff welcomed their beloved son Maximus Allen Meade on July 18, 2008 at North Central Baptist Hospital. She was a proud mama and showered Max with love and attention, not to mention lots of clothes! She so enjoyed spending time with her "little man".

She is survived by her loving husband Jeff, her beautiful son Max, beloved pets Chica and Kingston, her mother Gloria Slater, father Richard Gomez wife Margie, brothers Michael Slater, Ronny Slater daughters Krystal and Sara, and Danny Slater wife Kathy, sons Travis and Danson. Half-brothers include Gilbert Gomez, Mark Gomez wife Rochelle, children Isabella, Chloe, and Benjamin and half-sisters Rosann Schoenradt husband Sam, children Jaxson and Fiona, Lisa Vaughn husband Ron, children Kelsey and Jordan, and Tina Gomez.

She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her or ever spent time with her. She brightened the lives of everyone she came in contact with and made friends with everyone she met. She is our shining star, as beautiful a person inside as she was outside, our very special girl, and we are blessed for the short time she spent with us and that she loved us.
